See bulletin “What’s in it for me?” Selfish ambition is the heart of that question. But it is because of the selfless ambition of the Holy Child, the Son of God, Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior that still gives each one of us something worth looking forward to in our lives (our ultimate goal)… that is, our life to come with our King in His kingdom! And why wouldn’t we look forward to His kingdom? It is a perfect kingdom without sin, suffering, or death… that is more real, more alive, more exciting, more rich with color and enjoyment than any of the treasures and pleasures that this current world would dare to compare to offer! Ambition… It’s an important word, and it needs to be guided properly by our Lord Jesus. During this short season of Epiphany (like this short season of my life), I pray that the epiphany of God’s Word continue to give us an ambition to daily watch for the final coming of Christ our King. May the epiphany of God’s Word excite us and give us the ambition to travel whatever distance necessary, to remove whatever obstacle or distraction, to enter into God's house with joy for the pure Word of Christ’s Gospel, to enthusiastically like those first wise men following that star to seek out the Christ Child -to as Matthew 2:11 says "…when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child… and fell down and worshiped Him!"
